Kids in Sunday School are learning how to be “bucket-fillers” this year!
Did you know that everyone has an invisible bucket? You can’t see it, but it’s there! Its purpose is to hold your good thoughts and feelings about yourself. You feel very happy and good when your bucket is full, and you feel very sad and lonely when your bucket is empty. It’s the same for everyone!
We can all be “bucket-fillers”! You fill a bucket when you show love to someone, when you say or do something kind, or even when you give someone a smile. That’s being a bucket filler. When you make someone feel special, you are filling a bucket.
Kids brainstormed what that might look in their Sunday School classrooms this year. Some things they said were:
As we learn more about what it means to walk like Jesus, one definition might be that Jesus was the ultimate bucket filler! We’ll find out how we can fill buckets here at Southwood, in our community and around the world.
