On our final Sunday with Moses we reenacted the Battle of Jericho and the Crossing of the Jordan River to the Promised Land!
Our Pre/K students created horns for praising God and played the “Walls of Jericho” game with building blocks. Just as the Israelites followed God, they talked about the leaders in their lives that God has chosen for them to follow--Jesus, parents and teachers. We are to follow what God says. God’s way to live is the best, because God loves us and cares for us, and he wants to help us.
1st-5th graders acted out the story of crossing the River Jordan. In the story they learned about the 12 stones that were gathered to represent each of the 12 tribes of Israel. These 12 stones were stacked on the bank of the river marking the place where God led his people into the promised land. In class they each received a stone to remind them of a time that God has helped them. This rock is to remind them of God’s presence in the past and how he will always be with them.
Seven weeks and seven wonderful stories about Moses and God’s unfailing love for his people! We are hopeful that families have had meaningful conversations following Church and Sunday School about the messages that have been shared. If you have a “tale” from your family that you would like to share, please stop by Education Station or email Faye or Deb--we would love to hear from you!
Sunday School Outreach
We’ve only collected books for Clinic with a Heart for two weeks and we’ve already received 72 books! Last Thursday we started to give them out to the kids that came to Clinic.
Plus we collected $40.69 for prescriptions for Clinic patients as well as the $100 for tuition for the 3 AIDs orphans that the Sunday School students support.
